On May 28, 2020, the University of Colorado Denver LDT Student Agency was tasked to beta test the KONF Online Conferencing software application. They called it the Unconference. This was set up as a mock conference to test drive the platform and the logistics for remote conferencing.
The facilitators from the student agency asked me to participate as a presenter during one of two 15-minute breakout sessions. For my breakout, I presented tips for designing accessibility into learning systems. The presentation focused on color palettes for color blindness and adding alternative text to images, and what to add so that screen readers will ignore decorative imagery.
This was a fun experience, and I was honored they asked me to be a presenter. In many ways, it reminded me of my time, years ago, as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
