I was in high school a decade after Dr. Steven Novella and I, too, recall the media and others prognosticating about how education would change with the proliferation of personal computers. And while I am earning my Master of Arts in a program completely online, I notice the continued lack of virtual technology in K-12 and other higher education programs. Acknowledging the myriad factors contributing to the struggle to make the technology available in classrooms, it is apparent the students of the "digital era" will gain the knowledge and experience at home and through their peers. But we have to wonder when the education system will catch up to the students' abilities.
